![]() The saving grace for this game was the multiplayer. The campaign was pretty mediocre with very few levels, so what they did was stretch out the levels to the point where they become far beyond tedious. It's literally about a dude you play as who has a "Golden Eye". GoldenEye Rogue Agent feels like false advertising, having literally nothing to do with the original GoldenEye game or even the GoldenEye movie. Multiplayer wise it had a very challenging 2 player co-op campaign, which was hard enough that I never beat it, as well as a 4 player top down beat em up, which was only fun for a moment. I believe the driving parts were made by a different studio. There's also a full blown race with like 12 other drivers. There are also linear driving sections too, like one on a bike down an unrealistically long highway and another where you have to drive a bike onto a plane as it's taking off. ![]() The driving sections take place in mini-open world hubs, where you either do missions or go from mission to mission. ![]() The levels have a lot of variety again, but really the driving sections were really what brought the game to life. It should also be known it's third person this time instead of an FPS. They actually got Piers Brosnan to voice Bond for this one, which was cool. One of my fav maps ever, just a shame there was no bot support for it.Ġ07 Everything or Nothing is another hidden gem. Two of the maps had sky rails, one of which you could walk along the rail above the tram and the other had the trams going over this giant chasm, which meant players could fire homing missiles across the map at each other, into the trams, etc. I remember playing so much of the multiplayer, even just against bots. The driving sections, particularly the Aston Martin one in the snow, was amazing. Great single player with lots of variety, but it is true the later levels got repetitive. The driving sections were cool though, although honestly I didn't play much of it. Oh, finally I can talk about some of the great 007 PS2 games.Ī lot of people really like Agent Under Fire, but personally the controls felt really dated, and I only played it after playing through the later PS2 Bond games. ![]()
